    Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic blood disorder which characterized by red blood cells that assume an abnormal, rigid, sickle shape. These sickle-shaped cells can block blood flow and break down prematurely, therefore leading to various complications such as pain, infections, acute chest syndrome, and stroke.
